Music industry professional, author and speaker David Chislett will return to Nelson Mandela Bay on May 9th with a new workshop aimed at clarifying where the money in the music industry comes from, what artists need to do to access it and how to maximise your earnings through music.
"The Music Business Money Trail is a three-hour interactive session that will help all levels of musicians understand where the money in the business comes from and how to access it more easily," says Chislett.
Chislett is the author of 1,2,1,2: A Step By Step Guide To The SA Music Industry which was published in 2010. "The book is an essential guide to the inner workings and behind the scenes elements of the music business. It is mandatory reading for anyone wanting to make a career out of music and has been helping young artists to avoid the worst pitfalls of a ruthless and sometimes heartless industry," says Amy Shelver, co-founder of the n_mb city project, which has brought Chislett to the city.
